Are you interested in becoming a Certified Payroll Professional, but don't know where to start? Consider joining a chapter-sponsored CPP Study Group. It costs nothing to participate, but you must be a member of the SEPA chapter. Study groups are typically held twice a year for approximately 16 weeks to review the information provided in the exam content outline. Beth Trujillo, CPP is the chapter study group coordinator. Beth and other chapter volunteers, who have obtained their CPP designation will facilitate the study group.

The study group is designed to help members prepare for the CPP exam. By joining the study group, members can share knowledge and practical hints, as well as set and keep an organized study schedule. As with other activities, by studying with a group, rather than alone, you are more likely to stick with and complete the program. APA statistics have shown that individuals sitting for the CPP exam and utilizing the services of a chapter study group usually score higher on the exam than candidates who choose to study alone.

The study group uses the APA's Payroll Source as their reference/study tool. This publication is available for purchase from the American Payroll Association publications.   See below for other options on this important book!

CPP Study Group Moderators NEEDED! 

SEPA needs to have moderators to support the students.  Our Moderators must be a CPP and you will receive recertification credits for each hour that you teach per test year.  You don't have to moderate the entire session, if there is a topic or two you are willing to take on, then that would be very helpful too. 

Did you know you can qualify for the opportunity to attend a APA Year End Seminar courtesy of SEPA?  Each class you moderate earns you ONE 'chance' in a drawing to be held at the August Chapter Meeting.  There will be two winners of a Year End Seminar.  So not only do you receive CPP credits for being a moderator for the Study Groups but you could also win ONE of the seminars which will give you additional credits!  It's a WIN-WIN situation!
