National
Payroll Week for 2007 - It's never to early to get
started on this important week for Payroll
Professionals!
Calling all volunteers! We need your time, talent or
ideas to help make NPW 2007 the best yet!
National Payroll Week is your turn to shine and
celebrate. Do you have ideas? Do you want to volunteer
or donate? Let us know. This year’s National Payroll
Week will be celebrated during the week of September
3-7, 2007 which is fast approaching. We are once again
asking for volunteers and/or donations for the following
activities:
Walk (and possible sponsor of some level) for PKD
(Polycystic Kidney Disease) which is the most common,
life-threatening genetic disease. PKD is twice as common
as MS, and affects more people than cystic fibrosis,
muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, Huntington’s disease,
Down syndrome and Sickle Cell Anemia COMBINED!
Muscular Dystrophy Telethon (MDA) – answering
phones/taking pledges on Labor Day, Monday from 11am
to 4pm.
Bowling Against Dystrophy event
Anyone for a Phillies game? Bring your families,
friends, coworkers, everyone! I am currently requesting
additional info on behind-the-scenes tour, a Phanatic
appearance for our group, audio/video recognition. If we
can sell enough seats, we can even have our group
recognized – i.e., first pitch, MVP seating, etc.
Speaking to youth/early adult/learning disabled about
deciphering that first check, and what to expect;
resources available to them from IRS/SS
Speaking to youth/early adult/adults beginning a new
life in our country about working in the United States
Volunteering for a teen parent education and employment
program re: working and paychecks
Computer donations for low-income Philadelphia residents
through a local volunteer group
Sending out postcards to the payroll departments of
local business’s (list obtained from the Chamber of
Commerce), spreading the work about NPW and our local
chapter
We have so much we want to accomplish and we need your
help! Let’s show our pride in our profession, help those
less fortunate, and have fun doing it. Please contact
Alicia Milligan at
alicia.milligan@capmark.com
or (215) 328-1896 if you have additional ideas, want to
volunteer your time, or want to donate to our worthy
causes. Please let us know as soon as possible so that
we can confirm we will have enough volunteers.
