SEPA Presents:

Communicating with Style and Impact

We are very fortunate to once again feature Terry Welford at our next meeting. Her presentation on Communicating with Style and Impact will surely enlighten and inspire us.

Social psychologists estimate that between 40 and 60% of our messages get lost in translation between sender and receiver. In this presentation, we will focus on an essential skill which can improve everyone’s communication effectiveness – awareness of communication styles.

One factor that significantly affects communication is the style – the personality or value orientation - of each person. This session presents a simple model of four different communication styles.

Participants will complete a brief survey to determine their own communication style. Communication problems that can arise when people of different styles interact will be explored. Participants will learn strategies for resolving – and preventing – these problems. The importance of “flexing your style” will be discussed.

Dinner Selection

Dinner will be served buffet style and will include salad, Oven Roasted Chicken, Seared Beef Tips, Olive Oil Pan-Seared Salmon, seasonal vegetables, dessert and coffee. If you have special dietary needs, please contact Kelly Jo at vicepresident@sepaapa.org.

Please remember that if your membership is due for renewal, you must first renew your membership online before you will be able to register at the member rate.  Membership renewal is located in the Membership section of the SEPA website.

Registration for this event will close as of February 15, 2016 or earlier if registration reaches room capacity.  Walk-ins cannot be guaranteed a seat and will only be allowed into the event at the chapter's discretion based on available accommodations.
