SEPA Presents:

PA Act 32 Symposium

The chapter has received several inquiries regarding the implementation of Act 32.  This new law will expand employer responsibilities by requiring PA employers to withhold local taxes either in the work location's tax jurisdiction or in the employee's home tax jurisdiction if that tax is higher.

Scheduled to go into effect statewide in 2012, several counties have implemented the withholding and reporting requirements of Act 32 for 2011.

We will present a brief overview of Act 32 and an update of the latest news regarding this law.  Then, we will break into small groups divided by the payroll system you use so that members can brainstorm as to how to implement the new requirements for their company.

We will finish up with a question and answer session which will allow each group to provide feedback to all members.  If you would like to submit a question in advance, we would be happy to research the answer and address it at the meeting.  Please send questions to membership@sepaapa.org no later than the end of the day on Friday, May 6, 2011.

We have posted information pertaining to ACT 32 on the chapter website at:

http://www.sepaapa.org/Default.aspx?pageId=1014383

We ask that attendees review the regulations and sample questions prior to the meeting in order to be prepared for a thought provoking discussion on the implementation of this new law.

We will serve a roasted chicken dinner, coffee and dessert.  If you have special dietary needs, please contact Sharon at vicepresident@sepaapa.org.

Community Outreach Project

Community Housing Services (CHS) is a full-service non-profit housing agency, founded in 1983.  Based in Lansdale, PA, CHS has provided resources, crisis intervention, and long-term housing for the homeless and near homeless, victims of domestic violence, and single displaced men.

At the May meeting, SEPA will be collecting baby items for families who are being helped by CHS.  Needed are diapers (especially larger sizes such as 4, 5 & 6), formula, wipes, baby lotion, shampoo and body wash.

As always, SEPA thanks you for your support of these local organizations which provide much needed assistance in our communities.
