Payroll Practice Essentials
Come away from this flexible 3-day program with the payroll knowledge, skills, and abilities required to produce accurate paychecks, ensure payroll compliance, and improve job performance. Attend both Part One and Part Two for the complete program, or either part separately. Part One, a one-day introductory course for those new to payroll, teaches fundamental paycheck calculations through hands-on exercises. Part Two is a two-day basic course for those more experienced in payroll, covering more complex paycheck calculations, taxation concepts, and the completion of various tax forms.

Topics
Calculate gross and net pay
Recognize taxable vs. nontaxable fringe benefits
Withhold, deposit, and report federal income taxes
Identify an employee
Prepare and file Forms 941 and W-2
Use forms provided by new employees, including Forms W-4, I-9, and W-5
Who should attend
Payroll practitioners in the early stages of their careers, along with accounting, benefits, bookkeeping, HR administrators, and others interfacing with payroll. The course can help prepare you for both the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) exams.
