Emerging Issues in State Unemployment!

A Presentation by: Dave Meinert, Senior Director of Employer Solutions

Dave is the Senior Director of Employer Solutions at Thomas & Company.  Since 1985, Dave has held a variety of senior management positions with various industry providers including The Frick Company, TALX Corporation and Equifax.  Dave joined the Thomas & Company team in 2018 and today brings over 38 years of experience and passion for developing and driving effective cost-containment strategies and value in Unemployment Tax Management and HR/Payroll solutions to employers of all size and industry.

Summary:

Beginning with an overview of the unemployment tax system, we will progress to discussing the unemployment tax rating system, savings opportunities, compliance issues, and touch on the ramifications that occur when companies move employees between entities. We will also discuss FUTA, and look at legislation, and how this is affecting the industry. Examples are as follows:
